Brittany Velasquez, 20, of Superior, AZ, was arrested on March 27, 2018 after her two children, a 10 month old daughter and 2 year old son, were found dead in their car seats outside the family home. Velasquez was taken to jail on two murder and two child abuse charges and was supposed to be sentenced of Feb. 10, 2020 before Judge Gard of Pinal County Superior Court. Velasquez, now 23, changed her plea to guilty in a deal with prosecutors where one count of murder and one of child abuse was dropped in exchange for the plea. Velasquez will also be on probation for the rest of her life.

The child abuse was amended into a Class 2 felony with a presumptive sentence of 10 years and a sentencing range of five to 15 years possible.
